Carnival of the Baubles is back!

On Saturday 25 November 2023, the spectacular Carnival of the Baubles will return once again to light up Ashford Town Centre for its big festive celebration.

The stunning night-time parade, sponsored by Ashford College, and featuring hundreds of school children and community groups, has been carefully crafted by outdoor arts specialists Emergency Exit Arts, who are known for creating large unforgettable experiences in towns and cities up and down the UK.

This year’s enchanted forest theme display will be led by Farrah the Fox, a huge 5-meter tall mechanical puppet that will roam the streets on her scooter.  Taller than a double-decker bus, the animated creature will wave and welcome the crowds to Ashford, and get everyone along the carnival route in the Christmas spirit.

In the build up to the parade, there will be even more things for all the family to enjoy, including;

  • Festive markets
  • Creative workshops
  • Christmas lights (including the Elwick Place switch on)
  • Street entertainment
  • Bandstand Disco with DJ Casey Dale
  • Discount offers
  • After party at Coachworks

The parade will officially start at 5pm from Elwick Place, with Farrah the Fox leading a sea of light and music up Bank Street and towards the Lower High Street where there will be a fabulous celebratory ending!

Afterwards you can head to Coachworks for a family-friendly after party – with street food, music and lots of festive cheer!

As if that wasn’t enough, to get you in the pre-Carnival mood, County Square Shopping Centre will be hosting a Bauble Maker Space - where you can get a sneak peak of this year’s baubles and also join in a selection of workshops.
